How can I best use this life that has been given to me?

Imagine yourself as an angelic light in the higher realms, preparing to be born into your human body. You are coming earthside to learn the soul lessons your highest self set out for you. This is the premise of a book I just finished reading. I felt it teaching me things I have been longing to know, and have been deeply pondering since, such as:

  • Everyone is born into a certain set of circumstances. These circumstances are not random and are a good indication of the lessons you’re here to learn in this life time.

  • Prior to coming into your human body, your soul chose the lessons it wanted to learn, and that’s a good reason to stop and think deeply about the events in our lives. The major events are in our lives help us learn what we came here to learn. We may be here to learn about : truth, kindness, honor, patience, speaking up, listening, humility, selflessness, gratitude, generosity, allowing, sharing, compassion, creative self-expression, devotion, nonjudgement, honesty, leadership, discipline, responsibility, independence, interdependence, commitment, team building, respect, endurance, right use of power, focus, communication, receiving, giving, letting go, courage, detachment, multi-tasking, surrender, love, faith, balance, forgiveness, strength, healthy boundaries, service, imagination, spiritual connection, inner peace, love of self, love of others, healing self, wisdom, awakening your spiritual gifts, healing others, male/female integration, and connection with nature.

  • When facing hardships, instead of playing the victim, turn your thoughts to ask, what is the soul level lesson I am being given the opportunity to practice?

  • It is also true how the same situations continue to arise until we learn the lesson we came to learn, and the reality is we only have so much time. In my opinion, it is important to face our hardships head on and give ourselves the opportunity to learn as much as possible in the lifetime we are given.

these are just a few of the many valuable ideas Tricia McCannon outlines in Angelic Origins of the Soul. if you feel so called to read it for yourself I encourage you to do so!
